The British Association of Removers

We are members of The British Association of Removers (BAR) which is the only code of practice in the moving industry that’s approved and monitored by the Trading Standard Institute. All BAR members abide by the Code that dictates the standards of service you will receive, the quality of the materials used, the standards of vehicles and warehouses, staff training requirements and what will happen if something goes wrong. Most importantly the Code requires BAR moving companies to deal with you in a courteous and sympathetic way at all times.

Meet the team

Gary & Vanessa Lomer – Managing Directors

With their unwavering commitment and endless enthusiasm and energy they continue to drive the company forward. They have endeavoured to create a company offering a unique and unsurpassed service.

Ashley Lomer – Assistant Manager

From a young boy Ashley would travel with his father on moves whenever he was allowed as he enjoyed meeting the customers and enjoyed the banter of the team. As well as obtaining the knowledge and skills Gary has taught him, his commitment and desire to do the job well never deviates. Ashley is a remarkable removal man.

Steve Burch – Transport & Warehouse Manager

Steve joined us as our new Transport Manager in September 2015. He has been a driver and transport manager for over twenty years and we are delighted to have his expertise and professionalism within the company.

Darren Turnbull

Darren’s father Carl was also a removal man who Gary worked with at F C Eldridge & Son. Another member of the team who has been bought up and encouraged to be part of the removal world. Darren also known by the team as Daz is a highly skilled removal man and brings a wealth of experience and balance to the team. He has an amazing  work ethic and brings a fabulous energy to your moving day.

Georgia Jennings – Accounts

Georgia joined us in January 2015 to run the office administrative duties. Whilst balancing a busy family life, Georgia’s pragmatic approach has bought equilibrium to a busy office. Georgia manages the accounts side of the business.

Alice Thomson – Operations Coordinator & Estimator

Alice joined us in August 2015 as an Office Administrator and Trainee Estimator. In January 2017 Alice was promoted to Operations Coordinator  assisting Gary and Ashley with the day to day arrangements of our removal crew. Since completing the sales training Alice has become an integral part of our sales team. Alice adds an attractive balance  with her kind and gentle nature and willingness to provide the best customer service.

Anna Stocker – Office Administrator & Estimator

Anna joined our team in January 2017 after working in Adult Services for the last 14 years.  Anna manages the administrative operation, working closely with Georgia and Alice  to make sure the company engine purrs at all times. In her spare time Anna runs her own curtain making business.

G A Lomer & Son as well as employing superb individuals have the greatest of pleasures in obtaining the services of some exceptional people. Some members have been working with us for over thirty years whilst others have successfully sold their own removal companies and now bring their proficiency to our service whilst teaching our younger members of the team the ‘art of removals’.
